About The Practice
The Wedding Therapist is a NYC based therapy and consulting service specializing in helping people who are planning a wedding.
This practice came to life after I noticed how much my clients benefited from therapy targeted specifically to address issues that arose during and after their wedding planning season.
My mission is to help you find joy and ease in this process. The clients I work with learn tools to manage stress, anxiety, and relational issues that are common during this process.
I believe that planning “the best day of your life” is an opportunity for growth, to deepen and strengthen your relationship with your partner, your family and friends, and to get to know yourself better in the process.
WHo is the Wedding Therapist?
This is the place where I try to give you a sense of how it could feel to work with me, which is the most important part of your journey as you seek support.
A good fit can feel different to each person, but in the most simple sense a good fit is having a general feeling of liking the person you are working with, feeling heard, understood, and feeling able to communicate honestly and openly. Sometimes this happens quickly, and sometimes this happens over time.
I offer a 15 minute complimentary consultation so we can take the first step to figuring out if I can help you and if you want to work with me.

More About me
I’m a middle child. For me that meant playing the role of the mediator. (Full disclosure: this is probably one of the biggest reasons I became a therapist.) What are the skills of a mediator? The ability to see things objectively, to understand what others are feeling, and to facilitate communication and understanding in relationships.
I started out my therapy career as a trauma specialist working with children and their families. This means that nothing shocks me, I can handle big feelings and issues, I have lots of experience with relational issues, I know the importance of emotional regulation (aka managing feelings), and I’m not afraid of going deep. It also means I have worked with people of all ages, which has given me a well rounded training.
I am a very active therapist. Many of my clients have been referred to me for this purpose. They came looking for someone they feel they can interact with and can give them tools to work on between sessions. I believe therapy is about teamwork and am passionate about working with motivated and driven people who are willing and able to show up and work.
I ask a lot of questions (sometimes challenging ones). I suggest practices and tools to help you figure out what works best for you and to find ways we can build momentum for change. I make space for big feelings, so you too can learn to tolerate and understand your emotions, while also providing tools to manage those feelings. I enjoy laughing, humor is an important part of our attitude and positive outcomes in life, hopefully you too will want to laugh with me.
I love my job. I feel lucky and grateful I get to do this for a living and I take your desire to change and your goals very seriously. When I’m not working with clients, I make time to continue learning and developing skills.
I am passionate about helping you make this wedding planning process something you will be able to look back and remember with love and compassion. I really believe this is an opportunity for growth. I’m interested in you gaining a deeper and stronger connection to yourself and your partner, where love and wellbeing for yourself and your selected other are a priority.
